cottages at Blue Water Acres: forty lakeside cottages located
in Muskoka, an area of spectacular natural beauty. Cottages are located
on Lake of Bays in a private, natural wilderness setting. The resort
is located in Muskoka about 250 km. (160 miles) north of Toronto,
near Huntsville and Algonquin Park.
Blue Water Acres is located only 15 minutes
from the West Gate of Algonquin Park. This park is the oldest and
most famous wilderness park in Ontario. It was established over 100
years ago to protect a vast wilderness area more than 7500 square
kilometers in size. This area of ancient rock, sculptured by glaciers
consists of quiet forests, rolling hills, and an endless network of
rivers and lakes. It's a great place to see wildlife in their natural
habitat. The Visitor's Center and Logging Museum are well worth visiting.
Fishing, canoeing, hiking, birdwatching, and mountain biking are popular
activities in the Park. Excellent cross country ski trails are maintained
in winter.
Blue Water Acres is located close to many other
attractions such as Muskoka Pioneer Village, the Segwun Steam Ship
cruises, Santa's Village, Ragged Falls, the Cranberry Marsh, the Island
Queen Cruise, the Lady Muskoka cruise, and others. You can also arrange
for sight seeing flights on a float plane. The town of Huntsville
has many services including hospital, doctors, pharmacies, banks,
churches, theatres, and lots of stores for shopping.
